Aishah Binti Noor Azam, 24
Aishah is from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and is currently studying Pharmacy at UiTM Puncak Alam.
What made you interested in joining the National Unity Youth Fellowship?
"There is a lack of integration in Malaysia’s plural society. Based on my experience at university, most of the students are afraid of competition from other races and they tend not to interact with each other. I think this indirectly contributes to a racist mindset. There is no harm in socialising with different races. Unfortunately, this has been misinterpreted by students, and a racist mindset has developed amongst them. Hence, through this program I would like to gain more knowledge and experience in order to overcome this crucial problem."
What do you hope to learn or achieve from your experience with the Fellowship?
"I would like to enhance the relationship between members of Malaysian society, who come from different backgrounds, interests, races and religions. I would also like to highlight the relevance of being united today."
